1.) Kalamazoo Valley Museum

Start your weekend getaway by visiting the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. This museum is a favorite of locals and visitors alike, which is how you know it's an awesome place to spend a few hours. Whether it's a rainy day or you're trying to escape the heat, you and your kids will love the interactive exhibits. Did we mention it's free?

2.) Kalamazoo Institute of Arts

If you're an art lover, you owe it to yourself to check out the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. While it's considered a small museum there are plenty of interesting items to attract your attention. This art museum features changing exhibits from both local and regional artists, as well as a permanent collection.

3.) Air Zoo

Is your kid obsessed with planes? While the Air Zoo is technically in Portage, it's still a short drive from our Kalamazoo boutique inn. Plan on spending a few hours at this unique museum featuring flight rides, simulators, and movies.There are so many stories about not only the planes, but the brave pilots who flew them.

4.) Kalamazoo Nature Center

Fun for visitors of all ages, the Kalamazoo Nature Center is a great place to explore. Whether you're a skilled hiker or are looking for a way to wear out your hyperactive kids, this nature center has more than 14 miles of hiking trails. The Kalamazoo Nature Center is conveniently located near the downtown area and has plenty of parking.

5.) Kalamazoo River Valley Trail

Take a deep breath. Now exhale. If you're looking to get in touch with nature, check out the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail. This trail is wide, paved, and perfect for biking. 6.) Homer Stryker Field

Homer Stryker Field is home to the Kalamazoo Growlers, a college-level summer baseball league. This family-friendly stadium is enjoyed by visitors of all ages and has plenty of parking. If you think your kids won't be able to stay still to watch the whole game, check out the kid zone. You can't go wrong with great beer, hot dogs, and baseball that keeps you engaged right up to the fireworks.
