Whether this is your first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast in Kalamazoo or you have lived in Michigan your whole life, bicycling is a phenomenal way to explore the beautiful Michigan countryside. Here at Henderson Castle, we have teamed up with HGF Corporation to offer Bicycle Rentals to our guests.
Convenient Bicycle rentals start off at just $29 for a half-day, 5 hour rental, and for $49 you can get one of our four available bicycles for a full 24 hours. There are many rides within bicycling distance of Henderson Castle, and you can often turn around and see our Unique Bed and Breakfast in Kalamazoo from many places in the city.
For anyone choosing to ride a bicycle on public roads, we encourage you to take proper safety precautions and wear your helmet. Head injuries are the most serious concern while cycling, and this risk could be vastly reduced if everyone wore a helmet.
While bicycling, the cyclist is responsible for following the rules of the road they are on. While many of the beautiful southwestern Michigan counties have bike paths adjacent to the roads, some routes you may take will be along public roads. Make sure to watch the cars in front of you for unexpected slowing, and to listen for cars that may be on the road behind you.
HGF Corporation has provided us with several wonderful bicycles, and you may enjoy an entire day of riding while staying at our Bed and Breakfast. If you are out bicycling for an extended period, you should make sure you watch which gear you are in for extended periods. Bicycling in high gear for extended periods can put extra strain on your knees, and when you are making your way up a hill, make sure to shift to low gear.
Additionally, we encourage you to make yourself aware of the surroundings before you take a Kalamazoo Biking Day Trip. There are some wonderful trails in our area, and we have a few suggestions to get you started. Visit our Kalamazoo Biking Day Trip Ideas blog post to read more about them.
